Journeys begin at the beginning, one step at a time. When it comes to the HVAC industry, safety oftentimes dictates the first and all steps. Yesterday eight participants got their feet wet, today each will become introduced to ladder safety and general HVAC components and equipment.

Getting the workshop rolling in the right direction, we competed in an HVAC word search project, introducing common HVAC terms each will have to master. In addition, we had a winner as first prize won a totally fancy hat.And the winner is… for a clue, check out the photo.

In addition, initial hour of the first day we all welcomed Goodman as they brought in system swap equipment. After double checking, clearance was made. Tomorrow the new system will be installed while the old system will return to the facility for diagnoses, component breakdown, and who know what else we will do… oh yes, will recover refrigerant.

It is going to be a great six weeks!

The weather is testing all and makes for a good challenge in the HVAC field. Today all engaged in ladder safety training and general HVAC outside component encounters.

HVACTA: Ladder and Sunshine

By the end of the first week each participant gets down and dirty in the field. This week we went over safety issues, ladder and equipment, as well as launching our knowledge in the field. All ten excelled in a homework project, sharing their insight to all in the workshop not only in the class but also sharing knowledge in the field.

Next week we will be working with HVAC industry tools, readings, breakdowns, and deep heavily into the Universal 608 EPA Certification process. Oh, it’s going to be fun!
