Affiliate, Sponsorship & Partner Disclosure

Effective Date: October 16, 2025 • Last Updated: October 16, 2025

Transparency matters. Some pages on HVAC Technical Academy (“HVACTA,” “we,” “us,” “our”) include affiliate or referral links, sponsored placements, or describe partner-provided funding, tools, or services. This page explains those relationships and how we disclose them.

1) Funding Sources to HVACTA

  • Self-pay: tuition and fees paid directly by students to HVACTA.
  • 2nd Chance University (2CU): program funding transferred from 2CU to HVACTA. Context: 2CU is another entity under common control with HVACTA and may receive support from CareerSource Central Florida or related programs; however, HVACTA’s direct funding sources are limited to self-pay and 2CU.

2) Parity & Equal Access

  • Funding source parity: Self-pay and 2CU-funded students attend the same workshops and receive the same instruction, curriculum, lab access, and evaluation standards.
  • Gender parity: Men and women attend the same workshops and receive the same training and standards.

3) Training Structure & Instruction (200 Hours)

  • Total hours: The HVAC workshop comprises approximately 200 hours of instruction and practice.
  • Instructor-led: Training is led by an HVAC instructor. An online training tool may be used occasionally for clarity or reinforcement, but it is supplemental—not the primary modality.
  • Personal development (by 2CU): Delivered in-person in the classroom (not online) as part of the 200 hours (e.g., job readiness, soft skills, interview preparation).
  • HVAC modality mix: Some classroom instruction; the majority of time is spent in hands-on labs using actual HVAC equipment—some operational, some non-operational—for diagnostics, routine maintenance, de-installs, and installs.

4) Tools & Equipment (New; On-Site Custody; Responsibility from Issuance; Ownership on Completion)

  • New tool kits: HVACTA purchases NEW tool kits for each attendee. Tool models/contents may vary by cohort and availability.
  • On-site custody: Tools remain on-site during the workshop to ensure availability for training.
  • Responsibility from issuance: From the moment a kit is issued, attendees are responsible for care, cleanliness, proper use, and safeguarding—even while tools remain on-site.
  • Ownership transfer: Upon successful completion of the workshop (as defined in the attendee contract), ownership of the issued kit transfers to the attendee. EPA certification is not required for ownership transfer.
  • Warranty & maintenance: Tools are provided as-is by HVACTA; manufacturer warranties (if any) apply. After ownership transfer, attendees are responsible for upkeep and consumables.
  • Contract terms: All attendees sign a contract outlining program requirements and tool-kit stipulations (e.g., definition of completion, care standards while on-site, loss/damage responsibility, and any return exceptions).

5) Scheduling & Testing Entities (Within Our Organization)

  • Certifications & Safety: Information and scheduling for EPA 608, NATE, and OSHA 10 are handled by **Certifications & Safety**, another **entity within our organization** (not necessarily a separate legal entity). It operates its own website with its own Terms and Privacy Policy.
  • 2nd Chance University (2CU): **EPA 608 and NATE exams are proctored by 2CU**, another **entity under common control with HVACTA**.
  • Notices on links: Where HVACTA links to Certifications & Safety for information or scheduling, we note that you’re visiting an affiliated site with its own terms/privacy.

6) In-Kind Support & Educational Technology

  • Tools/equipment may be provided or routed via partners (e.g., through 2CU). Where a page highlights specific partner-supplied items, a disclosure appears near that content.
  • Supplemental online training tool: Provided to 2CU at no charge for instructional use where applicable; if referenced/linked, a disclosure appears adjacent to the first mention or link.

7) FTC “Material Connection” Standard

A material connection includes commissions, referral/lead fees, sponsored content, free products/services, or other benefits tied to a recommendation. When such a connection exists, we disclose it clearly and conspicuously on the relevant page, near the first link, CTA, or endorsement.

8) Where You’ll See Disclosures

  • Pages with affiliate/referral links: near the top and/or next to the first relevant link/CTA.
  • Funding disclosures: on pages describing tuition coverage or 2CU involvement.
  • Tool policies: next to content featuring tool usage or take-home benefits.
  • Training platform: next to mentions/links where the supplemental online tool is relevant.
  • EPA/NATE/OSHA: next to any Certifications & Safety scheduling/info link, labelled as our **affiliated site**.
  • Personal development: next to descriptions of the classroom-based personal development component delivered by 2CU.
  • Social/email: labels such as “ad,” “sponsored,” or “affiliate,” and hashtags like #ad or #affiliate near the beginning of the post when applicable.

9) Communications & Consent

We may contact applicants and students by email and SMS for application status, scheduling, and program updates. Marketing messages are sent only with your explicit consent obtained on the application form. You can manage preferences or opt out as described in our Privacy Policy and email/SMS notices.
