Preventive Maintenance 101

With tools in hand, students learn by doing, everyday:

  • Digital gauges: you will examine subcool and superheat
    • Determining proper refrigerant level
  • Readings: Capacitor(s), motors, and transformers
    • Determining variance and diagnosing as required
  • Customer Service Protocol
    • We perform proper customer service techniques daily

HVAC Career NowWithin two weeks, students at HVAC Technical Academy braze, diagnose components, perform full evaporator coil pull and cleans, break down and restore systems, and conclude week 2 with a package unit preventive maintenance.

Package Unit Preventive Maintenance

  • Students work in teams of two (with instructor) on initial preventive maintenance
  • Students (during week 4) will be performing preventive maintenances individually… allowing each to experience firsthand
  • Readings inside and outside the location are required… this is not just a replica; this is a real location where residential cooling comfort is top priority

HVAC ConcentrationIn addition to performing a package system preventive maintenance, students performed a preventive maintenance on a heat pump system with air handler in an attic… we keep it real.
