HVAC Technical Academy: Brazing in the Sun

HVAC Technical Academy: Brazing in the Sun

Recognizing one of the essential talents HVAC technicians MUST have is in the field of brazing, we get flames on and jitters out of the way fast.

They Call Me Mr. Braze

Not bad for a first time… or is it?

All participants get involved within the skills of torch safety and use. Earlier today we were introduced to condenser fan motor swapping by breaking down condensers, examining components, and getting the job done. Not a bad way to learn the HVAC skill set… by DOING!

  • Six-week adult workshop, a fast track to HVAC success
  • Results come from doing… and that’s exactly what we are all about.
  • Universal 608 EPA Certification is not just about passing a test, without the know-how of performing, you could be lost.

We are a hands-on workshop facility located in Sanford, Florida, where “Learn by Doing” defines our approach to get YOU on a path to personal AND professional success. Background friendly, HVAC Technical Academy partnered with 2nd Chance University to assist ALL desiring personal and professional success.

HVAC Heat Pump: What’s it All About?

HVAC Heat Pump: What’s it All About?

Over the past few weeks, we reviewed a crazy little thing called Straight Cool… now it’s time to get busy with Heat Pump Systems.

Heat Pump Systems: They Go Both Ways

HVAC heat pump systems are versatile heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) units that provide both heating and cooling functionalities. Unlike traditional air conditioners or straight cool systems that only cool indoor spaces, heat pumps can also extract heat from the outdoor air and transfer it indoors to warm the space.

Heat pump systems operate on the principles of refrigeration but can reverse the direction of heat flow to provide both heating and cooling.

Next time we’ll detail how heat pump systems work… so don’t go far! In the meantime, send questions through the comment section and one of our HVAC experts will share their experience and insight.

During our 6-week workshop you get down and hands-on involved with heat pump components, troubleshooting/diagnosing techniques, and will even perform a complete heat pump system installation as well develop HVAC Clarity, Choice, Confidence, and Competence.

Interested in a career in the HVAC industry, consider HVAC Technical Academy to help you get on the path quickly and effectively. Looking forward to hearing from you!

Straight Cool, What’s Your Take?

Straight Cool, What’s Your Take?

What’s going on in the photo as Andrew guides students to determine if this condenser is a straight cool or a heat pump… what’s your take?

In a Cooling Process Nutshell

Straight cool systems operate on the principles of refrigeration. They use a compressor, condenser, expansion valve, and evaporator coil to transfer heat from the indoor air to the outdoors, thus cooling the indoor space.

Let’s break down a few concepts: The compressor pressurizes refrigerant gas, increasing its temperature. The hot refrigerant then flows to the condenser coil located in the outdoor unit. In the condenser coil, the refrigerant releases heat to the outside air, causing it to condense into a high-pressure liquid.

Check back soon as there is much to come…

Until then, write, comment, or email if you have any questions or would like a specific topic reviewed.

Straight Cool or Heat Pump?

Straight Cool or Heat Pump?

I got this!HVAC straight cool systems are also known as air conditioning-only systems or cooling-only systems. In other words, straight cool HVAC system setups are designed solely for cooling indoor spaces. On the other hand, heat pump systems provide both heating and cooling.

Straight Cooling Only

On the surface, it may be difficult to reason why anyone would want to go with a straight cool over a heat pump system… not to worry, we’ll get into how each system works, the benefits of each system, and why one system may be the right choice for you.

So much to know, so little time!
