- Second step is to fully commit to student expectations, this includes taking an active role throughout the program… no missing classes… no excuses.
- Final step is to make the choice, enroll, and begin a challenging and rewarding career.
- Though the decision must come from you, there are essential things to consider:
- Length of program
- Cost of program
- Distance to location
- Online or brick and mortar
- Percentage of theory versus hands-on practical application
- What licenses or certifications are required once I graduate?
- To note: HVAC technicians do not need to be licensed to work in Florida but you must have an EPA 608 certification (initial exam and preparation provided by HVACTA and on site)
- Federal Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) requires anyone handling refrigerants must be certified… and that means you. To note, when inquiring about enrollment, be sure and ask if the written EPA exam is included in the program and prepared for.
