We all have different motives. Mine, Andrewโ€™s, Robertโ€™s, and Elaineโ€™sโ€”I think itโ€™s very clear. We want to help people.

Weโ€™re at a point in our lives where we help, and we want to give back to the community. I guess one would say โ€œpass it forward,โ€ for lack of a better term.

Itโ€™s always a pleasure. Itโ€™s an honor to be part of this. Weโ€™ve been doing this for several years, and like Iโ€™ve said beforeโ€”the dynamics are always different.

๐Ÿค Opening the Floor
I always ask, near the conclusion, if thereโ€™s anyone who would like to come up and say something. Anything to the groupโ€”words of inspiration, motivation, or just whateverโ€™s on your mind.

Is there anybody?

๐Ÿ“ฃ Welcoming Peter Colon
I see somebody in the back who has a 20-minute speech. Most of yโ€™all donโ€™t know who this is. Last one. Okay, just one page, right?

Iโ€™ll let him introduce himself, but he was with us last term. He shared something with me not too long ago that I think is a great thing.

๐ŸŽ™๏ธ Peter Colon โ€“ Graduate, Guest Speaker

ย Good evening, everyone. My name is Peter, from Orlando, and Iโ€™m from the previous graduating class here at HVAC Technical Academy.

ย Iโ€™ve had the honor to study under the guidance of Mr. Danny, Andrew, Robert, and Chrisโ€”just like all of you have.

ย I wrote something brief that Iโ€™d like to share with you. Itโ€™s a question, and itโ€™s called:

ย โšก What Is Energy?

Looking around us today, we see a room full of individuals who are filled with energy. I saw it in the videos. I heard it in your speeches. Each of us has a concentration of energyโ€”and that energy is what will propel us from this graduating moment into our next endeavor.

ย Everyone here has pure energy in your thoughts, in your heartbeat, and it shows in your commitment. When you came early, stayed late, asked the extra questionsโ€”thatโ€™s energy. Thatโ€™s whatโ€™s going to push you forward in your HVAC career.

ย ๐Ÿšง When You Feel Stuck

As you grow and move forward, there will be times when you feel stuckโ€”or like youโ€™re in a rut. What youโ€™re really feeling is a lack of motion.

ย Energy needs motion. Motion creates energy.

You might say, โ€œIโ€™ve filled out so many applications, and nobodyโ€™s calling me back,โ€ or โ€œIโ€™ve sent so many emails, and no oneโ€™s responding.โ€

Well, just like a car needs a spark to move forward, we need that same spark to keep going.

ย The hardest part is taking that first step. But once you do, the energy starts flowing again.

ย ๐Ÿ’ผ My Journey to a Career

It took me over 22 applications to land my current career. I came from a completely different background that didnโ€™t help me in HVAC.

ย What helped meโ€”was this school.

When I showed up to the interview with my DPA, the employer asked me questions about parts and devices. I not only answered them, I went above and beyond with what I had learned from Mr. Danny, Mr. Andrew, and Mr. Robert. They had filled my brain with this scienceโ€”with this thermodynamic knowledge.

ย And the employer said, โ€œYouโ€™re hired on the spot.โ€

They said, โ€œWe had other candidatesโ€”but Iโ€™m hiring you because you show passion, you show commitment, and you demonstrate the four Cโ€™s.โ€

ย โœ… Donโ€™t Stop Moving

So yesโ€”you will face tough situations. But donโ€™t give up.

ย Use the energy within you. Keep moving. Keep applying. Because when employers see where you trained, and how you present yourselfโ€”theyโ€™ll hire you.

ย In our last class, someone got hired within one day.

ย So I wish you all the best. I wish you strength in your career journey.

God bless you. And rememberโ€”always maintain your focus, and maintain that energy moving forward.
