We all have different motives. Mine, Andrew’s, Robert’s, and Elaine’s—I think it’s very clear. We want to help people.

We’re at a point in our lives where we help, and we want to give back to the community. I guess one would say “pass it forward,” for lack of a better term.

It’s always a pleasure. It’s an honor to be part of this. We’ve been doing this for several years, and like I’ve said before—the dynamics are always different.

🤝 Opening the Floor
I always ask, near the conclusion, if there’s anyone who would like to come up and say something. Anything to the group—words of inspiration, motivation, or just whatever’s on your mind.

Is there anybody?

📣 Welcoming Peter Colon
I see somebody in the back who has a 20-minute speech. Most of y’all don’t know who this is. Last one. Okay, just one page, right?

I’ll let him introduce himself, but he was with us last term. He shared something with me not too long ago that I think is a great thing.

🎙️ Peter Colon – Graduate, Guest Speaker

Good evening, everyone. My name is Peter, from Orlando, and I’m from the previous graduating class here at HVAC Technical Academy.

I’ve had the honor to study under the guidance of Mr. Danny, Andrew, Robert, and Chris—just like all of you have.

I wrote something brief that I’d like to share with you. It’s a question, and it’s called:

 ⚡ What Is Energy?

Looking around us today, we see a room full of individuals who are filled with energy. I saw it in the videos. I heard it in your speeches. Each of us has a concentration of energy—and that energy is what will propel us from this graduating moment into our next endeavor.

Everyone here has pure energy in your thoughts, in your heartbeat, and it shows in your commitment. When you came early, stayed late, asked the extra questions—that’s energy. That’s what’s going to push you forward in your HVAC career.

 🚧 When You Feel Stuck

As you grow and move forward, there will be times when you feel stuck—or like you’re in a rut. What you’re really feeling is a lack of motion.

Energy needs motion. Motion creates energy.

You might say, “I’ve filled out so many applications, and nobody’s calling me back,” or “I’ve sent so many emails, and no one’s responding.”

Well, just like a car needs a spark to move forward, we need that same spark to keep going.

The hardest part is taking that first step. But once you do, the energy starts flowing again.

💼 My Journey to a Career

It took me over 22 applications to land my current career. I came from a completely different background that didn’t help me in HVAC.

 What helped me—was this school.

When I showed up to the interview with my DPA, the employer asked me questions about parts and devices. I not only answered them, I went above and beyond with what I had learned from Mr. Danny, Mr. Andrew, and Mr. Robert. They had filled my brain with this science—with this thermodynamic knowledge.

And the employer said, “You’re hired on the spot.”

They said, “We had other candidates—but I’m hiring you because you show passion, you show commitment, and you demonstrate the four C’s.”

 ✅ Don’t Stop Moving

So yes—you will face tough situations. But don’t give up.

Use the energy within you. Keep moving. Keep applying. Because when employers see where you trained, and how you present yourself—they’ll hire you.

In our last class, someone got hired within one day.

So I wish you all the best. I wish you strength in your career journey.

God bless you. And remember—always maintain your focus, and maintain that energy moving forward.
