HVACTA: Commercial Compressor

HVACTA: Commercial Compressor

HVACTA: Commercial CompressorToday all got their hands on a 175-pound commercial compressor. Andrew held mentorship to an eager group seeking knowledge and hands-on experience ate it up.

HVACTA: Commercial Compressor

Our philosophy is guided by practical knowledge mixed with theory and safety. Though concentrating on residential, when given the opportunity we get dirty with commercial equipment… never know what’s in store here. After all, one never knows what is in store at any call.

Looking for a hands-on approach to HVAC learning, give me a call to discuss.

HVACTA: Brazing in the Sun

HVACTA: Brazing in the Sun

HVACTA: Brazing in the SunToday we introduced all to the world of brazing. With grand instruction by Andrew, Chris, and Robert, all handled the torches like champs.

HVACTA: Brazing in the Sun

Each participant cut their own copper pieces and torched away. Overall, an excellent result for all first timers on the torch.

Highlighting their work, look at the photo(s) and you make the call. Tomorrow is a new day and we be back on the brazing trail as well as system breakdowns. Oh, what a place of progress we have here!

HVACTA: A Quick Introduction

HVACTA: A Quick IntroductionDuring the first few days, participants are introduced to HVAC systems and the EPA 608 Universal Certification process. Not only did all participants get a bit of hands-on component time, all also got a picture of what the upcoming weeks will be about.

HVACTA: A Quick Introduction

As the photo highlights, multiple systems, makes, models, and conditions will be assessed, torn down, rebuilt, and ultimately readied for the scrap yard.

It is going to be an action-packed learning experience over the next five weeks!

HVACTA: On Top of the World…

HVACTA: On Top of the World…

HVACTA: On Top of the World…HVAC technicians are often required to perform services on the roof. Be it commercial or residential, ladder practice and safety should always come first.

HVACTA: On Top of the World…

After reviewing safety standards during our classroom setting, the group put knowledge to the test. All performed without a hitch, from a three-contact to ladder angle, to being three feet above the ledge, each climbed and returned to earth carrying a 20-pound tool bag.

We have a great group here and the next six weeks will find all getting down and dirty within the HVAC field with a learn-from-doing approach.

Interested in learning more, keep following and give me a call to chat.

HVAC Day One: And the Winner IS…

HVAC Day One: And the Winner IS…

And the winner is...Nothing like a little fun competition to help learn key HVAC terms. On the first day of our workshop, we engaged in an HVAC keyword search. Finding 20 words in 15 minutes found a clear leader.

HVAC Day One: And the Winner IS…

Learning comes in many forms. At HVAC Technical Academy, our commitment is to take advantage of as many learning styles as possible. Today was no exception!

Taking the Lennox Cap trophy was no other than Daniel Alicea. Congratulations are in order, but we shall see if he is able to get the next trophy. Wondering what the challenge will be?
