Danny –Introduction to David Ruddy

Also, it’s on YouTube. So that way people all over—I’ve got a couple of people who have over a thousand views. That’s pretty impressive.

So this here is a pretty good little indication. If you’re interested, it’s on our HVAC Technical Academy. You go to Resource Center, Students Attending Videos, and voilà.

So this one here, I’m just picking them in random order. So from—from—don’t yell at me if you’re first. Okay, David?

Yes, sir.

So, let’s take a look at David. Now remember, nobody had any experience in this. And in just six weeks, you can see what they can do.

Hi, my name is Dave. I’m with HVAC Technical Academy. Today we have a call for a condenser fan motor not operating. This is where the condenser fan motor is located, in the top of the outdoor condenser unit.

It’s a very important part of an AC system because it moves the air through the condensing coil, up out of the outdoor unit, which is necessary for a refrigerant to condense in the coils.

We take it out, we unscrew the bolts, we flip it over, and it looks something like this.

If it’s not working, we check our Y signal coming from our thermostat, which goes through the air handler, comes out to the outdoor unit, and enters the contactor. So we would check the contactor. Then we would check the capacitor. If both those are good, then we would check the fan itself.

So, everybody had their own video, and you’re going to see some of them very, very successful in—in these work.

David, not bad. Not bad for a rookie.
